PSW refused "no points given to PGDiploma"?? help

Post by pakstar » Sat Sep 20, 2008 8:17 am

Hi

my psw was refused because of no evidence from insititution that Post graduate diploma is equaliant to UK naric level 7 or higher..

but same diploma has 30 points in HSMP calculator tier 1 general. Any idea if HSMP calculator showing 30 points for same diploma but no points for PSW ??

any suggestions, they gave me 14 days of apeal.

what should i do, i was previously on student visa.

thanks

I thought it had to be a UK First Degree for PSW, no more, no less. Read the guidance notes.

HSMP requirements are irrelevant

Two more followup questions.

1. I have talked with my college and they said they will give me a letter showing that diploma is Level 7 of UK naric or higher. will it be ok for tribunal to decide my case in my favour or should i go to UK naric and get it evalued according to UK naric?

2. How long normally a tribunal takes to decide such case as i was planning to go my country in near future :(.

many thanks

If you are applying for Tier 1 (PSW), why are you looking through Tier 1 (General) calculator?? Select Tier 1 (PSW) when using the calculator.

You should have checked points for your qualification (and other attributes) in the points-based calculator before submitting your application. There is no use of appealing the decision unless you are sure that you have not been awarded points (for qualification) that you are entitled to.

There is no pointbased calculator which calculates your diploma points in PSW visa, the requirement is listed body institution / or awarding body and level 7. this will give you 20 + 20 = 40 points.

my visa was refused that there was no evidence that this is level 7 , thats what homeoffice said, so if i take letter from college showing it is level 7, will that be ok?
thanks

pakstar,

Is your PG Diploma been awarded by a University through a college. Then there should not be any problem. Since Ho says that you need to complete a PG Cert or PG Diploma. Where is it mentioned in HO that the certificate has to be NVQ level 7?
