Application after NHS 1yr extension

Post by Ghostrpg » Fri May 14, 2021 9:02 am

I was on a Tier 4 Visa before i switched to FLR-M. I arrived in the UK in 2016. Got my first FLR-M in 01/2018 which expired in 07/2020. When that expired, I got a free NHS extension for a year which is due to expire in 07/2021. I am looking to start the renewal process soon.
I was talking to a friend who suggested i apply for an ILR instead of an extension on my current visa. What are the chances of getting an ILR instead of the extension. A extension will take me over the required 5yrs before i apply for an ILR. Will that interfere with the application when it is time?
Thanks in advance.

You do not qualify for ILR yet. Your ILR clock based on 5 years residence starts from the date you got FLR(M).

Your student visa does not count towards ILR based on 5 years residence.
