Do I need to update my EU settlement scheme after becoming British citizen?

Hi,

I recently became British citizen, but I am wondering if I need to update my online EU settlement scheme status, as it still shows as me having settled status? On the letters from home office, they only mention that you have to send your biometric card to them, but I only have an online status. I would be very grateful if anyone could help.

There is no specific guidance on this - as a British citizen your Settled Status (an immigration status) is now irrelevant - my suggestion would be to leave it. There's no BRP to return which has always been the case for EU citizens. There are no more obligations under that status - it will probably take ages for systems to be cleansed. NB. on the Settled Status update screen is there an option to cancel status or say you are British now?

Thank you for your reply . No there’s is not a option as you mentioned. There is only the usual link to update your contact details or nationality, but this require me to send in my new passport, so that they can enable me to access my status with my new passport. I have dual citizenship now, so I haven’t really changed my nationality as such either.
