Finding out decision on visa

Hi all,

I’m based in the UK and have asked my cousin in India to visit me in London. I completed the online application through the UK Government visa website myself and my cousin provided her biometrics and left her passport with Vfs in India, to be sent back to her after the decision.

I asked UKVI to send email and SMS updates.

Today I received a email from Vfs saying the application has been processed and documents sent by courier. But I have received no information on whether visa was granted or refused as I guess they’d send back updates either way. I can’t seem to find anywhere online on UKVI or Vfs to tell me. Is there a way to find out before the passport arrives?

1. You/cousin will find out when the passport is collected.

2. UKVI will not tell you anything about another persons application due to GDPR. The call centre is also an outsourced third party agent.

But surely I receive a decision letter? I did the last time but that was through a agency in India & they forwarded the rejection letter to me

To clarify, I ask because I wanted to video call and tell her the news myself before she gets it back as a surprise, we’ve been trying to get her here for many years

She will get the decision herself. You will not be informed due to GDPR.
