Questions about Approval Emails

Post by MaidaValeNewbie » Tue Jul 12, 2022 7:59 pm

Hi all

My application for British citizenship has been approved and I think I've got everything ahead of my ceremony next week.

However, I'm a bit confused as to how many emails/letters I am to receive, and from who. I've received the following:

1. Email from Home Office Atlas with subject Application Update, and at the top it says Citizenship Ceremony Invitation.

2. Upon booking my ceremony with my local council, I received two emails from the council saying ceremony has been booked and providing details of the ceremony day.

My questions:

Is item 1 the "Home Office Invitation Letter"?

If so, I have not received this by post, only by email - should it be coming by post?

Are there any other letters/emails I should have / receive ahead of the ceremony (or after), or is this it??

Thanks in advance!

I should mention that I submitted my documents via the IDV App.

I think a letter I may be missing (aside from a hard copy of the Home Office Invitation Letter) is a separate invitation from the council. Perhaps all councils don't do that, or perhaps I booked a slot before they could get a letter out.

There was a link in the Home Office Atlas email to book the ceremony, and I booked my ceremony from there.

The email form ukvi is the approval letter. You won't get one by post.

Thank you - nothing I've received says it's from UKVI. Is that the same as the Home Office Atlas email? That's from home.office.atlas@notifications.service.gov.uk.

Thanks

Home Office is the tree, UKVI like a bra ch of that tree so the letter or email you got serves that purpose.

You have had your approval, something a lot of people are still waiting for who have put in their application way before you, surely you can take your win and let the rest of us deal with our own problem.
