British citizenship is 'easiest' because the others most likely have longer waiting periods if not married to a citizen.maxiy wrote:Thank JAJ,
My main aim are not the UK citizenship and I'm looking for more easy one to get like Malta or Gibraltar.
Do you know any information about both of them.
Thank you again.
Gibraltarians are British citizens. Not sure how they process applications for naturalisation in Gibraltar though.maxiy wrote:My main aim are not the UK citizenship and I'm looking for more easy one to get like Malta or Gibraltar.
Similar to the Irish conditions for naturalisation then (5 years residency). Interesting that the Maltese state residency and not legal residency (at least in what you have quoted).maxiy wrote:I found this info , any Help :
ACQUISITION OF MALTESE
CITIZENSHIP BY NATURALIZATION
You are a foreigner or stateless person
and:
- you have resided in Malta throughout the twelve months immediately preceding the date of application; and
- you have resided in Malta for periods amounting in the aggregate to a minimum of four years, during the six years preceding the above period of
twelve months; and
- you are of good character; and
- you have an adequate knowledge of the Maltese or the English language; and
- you would be a suitable citizen of Malta.
True, but the rubric that "you are of good character" could be used to reject applications from people who are resident illegally. And "you would be a suitable citizen of Malta" is very vague, and that too could be used for that purpose.benifa wrote: Similar to the Irish conditions for naturalisation then (5 years residency). In fact, someone applying for naturalisation in Gibraltar would be naturalised as a British Overseas Territories citizen (BOTC).benifa wrote:
