Timeframe for submission of application for extension of stay in the UK as the partner of British citizen – Form FLR M

I am resident of the UK being partner of my spouse who is British national. My present leave to stay in the UK is going to be expired on 12th Feb 2024 and before this I need to apply for further extension of 30 months(2.5 Year), or as admissible under the policy guidance, to continue my stay with my spouse and infant child.

Today, my spouse has taken advise by calling on the helpline number of Home Office where it has been advised that I can move my application for extension of my stay (form FLR M) up to 2 months before the expiry of my current leave.

Keeping in view of the seriousness and sensitivity of the matter, I shall be grateful, if you could please confirm in writing/return email that how many days/weeks/months earliest before the expiry of my present leave, I can apply for extension of stay under form FLR M.
