Exisiting visas on passport

Post by harakiri » Wed Dec 31, 2008 8:17 am

Do the Visa Officer check for information on any of the previous visas on the passport to support their decision making for Tier 1 visa? I have 1 visit visa and 3 business visit visas (out of which 1 is valid).

Having 1 valid business visa, would it act as a part of verification process by checking the information on their system and not contacting the employer directly?

Thanks.

Earlier ECs help but if there is anything lacking in your Tier-1 application then it would not be ignored. Not sure if these VISAs will in anyway dissuade the caseworker from contacting your employer should he has reasonable doubts about (how and why they have any doubts seems a bit subjective) authenticity of the supplied evidence.

i know what I have said does not help but I think no one can be judgmental about such issues in absence of any explicit guidelines to this effect .

Just wanted to share....with you.

I had a south africa work permit visa valid till 2009 and had been to saudi arabia for 7 months through my present with business visa.

And unfortunately even I didn't mentioned in cover letter and it didn't effect my Tier 1 decision. I got Tier 1 visa stamped on my passport till Dec 2011.

I hope case worker knows about visas and applicants visit to those countries.

Regards,
Suresh

I put up this query as I have all 4 UK visas, out of which one is current and all of them are from the same employer where I currently work and hence thought this could be one of the ways to verify the employment.

Lets hope for the best.
