EUSS Family Permit Expiry date

Good morning members


Thanks for your help in advance.


An under 21-year old was issued an EUSS family permit in his home country.

However, the 6-month visa(EUSS family permit) would expire two weeks before he would be available to travel to the UK.
Please, does he need to make a fresh application?
