ILR Eligibility for my Son

Post by skanumet » Thu Feb 13, 2025 9:56 pm

Hi I need some advise know about my son ILR eligibility

background

1. I have entered UK on 26 Feb 2019 on ICT visa
2. my son entered UK on 23 Aug 2019 on ICT dependent visa at the age of 12 Years.
3. My skilled worker visa approved for self and family members on 5th May 2021
4. I have transferred to new employer skilled worker visa approved on 4th March 2022, valid up to 17th April 2027

Question:

Since my my Skilled Worker visa approved on 5 May 2021 and as per COS work start date 12 July 2021,
When should I apply for ILR in the month of May or July 2026?

I am on skilled worker visa and will have completed 5 years by May 2026, with our present visa good until 17 April 2027. My son will be 18 years old by June 2025, and may I apply for his ILR with mine because he will be 19 years old by July 2026? His dependant visa is valid until April 2027.

Do not repeat yourself and create multiple posts. Stick to this post only.

When did you apply for your initial skilled worker application?
Your son can only settle when both parents are setting or settled. He needs to apply using a separate SET(O) application

You can apply earlier than your dependants in May 2026. UKVI now allows skilled worker main applicants to count the time since their initial application submission date towards their ILR, assuming they applied between 24 January 2020 and 30 June 2021 and were subsequently granted a visa:
Due to major disruption to UKVI services during the COVID-19 pandemic, Tier 2
(General) and Skilled Worker applicants in the UK were permitted to start work for
their sponsors while waiting for decisions on their applications. This time while they
were waiting, but able to work, also counts towards the continuous 5-year period
.
The applicant must have been in the UK with permission (including as a visitor or
with Exceptional Assurance), and the application must have been:

• for permission to stay
• made between 24 January 2020 and 30 June 2021 (inclusive)
• supported by a CoS on the date of application
• granted

Thank You,
Now I have gone trough all my previous UKVI communications during my first Skilled work visa process.

1. 7th April 2021, I have paid the Vissa Fee and booked the appointment for biometrics
2. 5th May 2021,Biometrics completed and Visa application approved on the same day, (5th May 2021)

Now, can I apply ILR in April 2026?

ILR Application eligibility date

Post by skanumet » Fri May 30, 2025 9:55 am

I have switched from ICT to skilled worker visa in 2021

1. Skilled worker visa fee paid and application submitted 07 April 2021 and biometric appointment booked on 8 April 2021.
2. Visa application biometrics submitted & Skilled worker visa application approved on the same day 05 May 2021
3. can I submit my ILR application within 28 day (e.g March 2026)

4. can I apply ILR for my family members as their dependent visas approved along with my skilled worker visa.

No. Only main applicants can benefit from the concession. You were told this above when you asked the same query in Feb. Why are you not reading the advice given ?

Skilled Worker Visa first submitted proof

Post by skanumet » Sun Jan 18, 2026 9:40 pm

Hi

I am writing to request guidance on how to evidence the submission date of my Skilled Worker visa application and the linked dependant applications submitted in April 2021. im planning do early ILR submission as my initial Skilled worker application submitted during 24 January 2020 and 30 June 2021)

At the time, all four applications (myself and three dependants) were submitted together in a single submission. The application fee and IHS fee were paid in one transaction. We received the application fee confirmation and IHS payment confirmation emails only.

However, we did not receive any email confirming that the visa application had been submitted, and the payment confirmation emails do not show the submission date or the names of the dependants.

Could you please advise how we can formally prove the application submission date for the main applicant and dependants? If possible, we would also appreciate confirmation of whether an official record or confirmation can be issued by UK Visas and Immigration showing the submission date and the dependants linked to the application.

Thank you for your assistance.

You are still stuck on the issue of covid concession, it seems. :?

Formally to prove what ??? You do NOT need to tell the UKVI what they have on their systems. They issued your visa, they know when you applied, you do not need to prove anything to the UKVI. This is absurd
