Tier 1 PBS dependent maintainence balance

Post by divchopra » Fri Feb 28, 2025 2:02 pm

Hello,

I will be applying for Tier 1 Ent ILR soon and my wife will be extending her tier 1 dependent as she won't qualify for ILR until next year. Now I am not suppose to have maintainence balance but does my wife needs to have a certain maintenance balance for her extension? If so, how much. Also we were under impression that we didn't have to maintain a balance so if we do now, will it be late? Our visas are valid until 20th April 2025. Can she maintain the balance from today till 3 months and take our biometric appointment after that? Say 1st of June - Will that work? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Zimba as always.

My wife will be applying for a tier 1 ent dependent extension. No maintainence for her too? I don't know why one solicitor told me that I need to put £630 for 3 months as she isn't applying for an ILR. So I was worried if i can maintain till my biometric day as it'll only be 2 months on date of application. Would you be able to send me a link by HO? I am unable to find one. Sorry I'm a bit stressed about this!

Why are you wasting time and money on useless solicitors ???
Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) family members
Family members of Tier 1(Entrepreneur) lead applicants must have evidence of
available funds of £1,890 - if the applicant is either outside the UK or has been present in the UK for less than 12 months.
Dependants of Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) lead applicants cannot use the same funds the
Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) used to score points for attributes to meet the maintenance requirement.
Dependants of Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) lead applicants who have been in the UK for 12
months or more do not need to meet the maintenance requirement.

Oh god! Thank you Zimba. I don't know why the solicitor told me so. Made me stressed! And here I was thinking to get help of a professional this time since it's hopefully my last visa application before I get my ILR.

I regularly see bad advice reported here that applicants got form solicitors
