I started a UK Student Visa application recently and paid the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS). However, I realized there was a major mistake in the application before paying the visa application fee or submitting it.
I have two main questions:
1. Can I get a refund for the IHS payment in this situation? The application was never submitted, and I never paid the visa fee. Has anyone had a similar experience and successfully received a refund?
2. I want to start a new and correct application, but I’m not sure of the best way to do it.
I used the UKVI online application system, and I noticed that it won’t let me withdraw or delete the old (incomplete) application unless I first pay the visa fee — which I obviously don’t want to do since the form has major errors and the fee is non-refundable (I assume please correct me if I am wrong)
So my question is:
3. Can I start the new application using a different email address to avoid any issues?
The new email address that I will use will end up being different than the one on my university application etc
Any guidance or personal experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!
