Global Talent Visa (RAEng endorsement) – Do documents need to be posted?

Post by drijazfazil » Wed Sep 10, 2025 9:01 am

Hi, I’m applying for the UK Global Talent Visa under the RAEng endorsement route. The Stage 1 form mentions posting documents, but guidance says everything should be uploaded online unless originals are later requested.

Has anyone here (recently) had to actually post documents, or was uploading online enough?

Thanks!

For the Global Talent Visa (RAEng endorsement), Stage 1 is now almost entirely handled online. The endorsement application through the Home Office portal requires you to upload scanned copies of your supporting evidence (CV, letters of recommendation, personal statement, and proof of achievements).

You generally do not need to post physical documents at this stage. The only time originals might be required is if the endorsing body or the Home Office requests verification after reviewing your file, but that’s relatively uncommon. The RAEng and other endorsing bodies have shifted away from paper submissions in recent years to streamline the process.

In practice, uploading high-quality scans of all required documents is sufficient for Stage 1. If you progress to Stage 2 (the immigration application), you may then be asked to attend a biometric appointment and, depending on your nationality, present original documents like your passport or qualifications at the Visa Application Centre.

So unless specifically instructed otherwise, uploading online is enough. I’d recommend keeping certified copies or originals safely ready, just in case RAEng or UKVI requests them later.
