Status reverted and no invite for ceremony received

Hi folks,

I paid my certificate fee on 03/11, having received acknowledgment on the same day and processing confirmation on 05/11. On 06/11 my status updated to Pending Ceremony and Certificate. However, on 12/11 the status reverted to Intention to Grant Sent.

I did not get an invite for the ceremony in December, nor for the 1st or for 02/12.

Has anybody experienced something similar? I feel that someone made a processual mistake on my application and I'm gonna miss the ceremony because of that.

I logged a query on the portal but they could take months to respond.
Feeling disheartened.

This doesn't sound totally unusual. I got my letter and paid my fee in December 2023 (before the tracking portal was a thing), and missed the chance to be invited to that December ceremony by a few hours, I suspect. I wasn't then invited to a ceremony until June 2024

Definitely worth asking why your status seems to have reverted, but I wouldn't be too concerned

I believe that ceremonies are more frequent now than they were in 2023 as well. They seem to be at least every couple of months.

I responded to my invitation within 30 minutes of receiving it - just because I was sat at my computer at the time. I am thankful that I was given your story. I am sure that it will come around soon enough.

I am just a little disheartened.
I didn't only see my status reverting from Pending Ceremony to Intention to Grant, but I saw a lot of people that paid the fee and received their processing confirmation after I did get the invite. It feels like I was forgotten or someone put a wrong status on my application by mistake.

Yeah, I felt similar and even got passed over for a February/March ceremony before I got the eventual invite for June...

It all feels as arbitrary as the rest of the process... Just waiting with no feedback on progress

From my initial application in August 2021 to certificate received in the post a few months after the ceremony was about 3 years, so think yourself lucky that you're very likely to beat that.
