Child British Citizenship Application when Dad is already British

Hi

Two kids have ILR (skilled worker dependent visa route).
Dad is British, Mum has ILR.
I want to submit a fee waiver applicaiton for two kids (for registering them as British Citizens). Can they both be in the same fee waiver application? If yes, then how to deal with the token as I will have to make two individual MN1 applications.
To my knowledge, MN1 application is individual. So I need two MN1 applications (one for each kid), right?. But not sure how to deal with the fee waiver application in this case...
Also, I feel that having a fee waiver application for two kids will make my case stronger...

Having a fee waiver won't make your application stronger. Applications are purely assessed on statutory requirements.

You need to apply separately for fee waivers for your two children.

I think the imperative question is, why can the registration of the children not wait until you save enough money for the registration?

Going through your past posts, the children were not born in the UK, so there is no underlying entitlement to registration. Are either of the children close to their 18th birthday?

Sorry for my late feedback. I think having a fee waiver application for two kids together is stronger. I will be claiming that I am not able to pay £2000 (not £1000). Saving £2000 is more difficult than saving £1000.

Yes. Both kids were born outside the UK. They are 10 and 6 years old. They both have ILR settled. Dad is a British citizen. So they can be registered as British citizens (I believe) ?

You can't apply for two waivers together. They have to be done separately. Citizenship is not an automatic right, if you earn enough to sustain yourself and children you can save the money needed to register your children. The fee waiver is a process only available if you don't earn enough to provide for your family's essential needs.

If they are 10 and 6, there is no rush to get them registered. Is there any reason that they need to be registered as a matter of urgency and not wait (on ILR) until you have saved the money?

Both of them don't need to be registered at the same time. Save £1000+/the registration fees at the time and register one child. Rinse and repeat.

Essentially I am suggesting that you need a good reason, or at least a better reason than what you have provided, to request for a fee waiver. That it will take time and effort to save up the money is not, in my opinion and likely that of the Home Office, a good enough opinion.

What you would want to prove is that the children would be negatively impacted in some way by their lack of British citizenship. Given that they already have ILR, they have access to almost all the benefits of citizenship within the UK.

I have submitted a fee waiver application for the British citizenship fees for two kids (under 18). Both kids are in one fee waiver application (yes it is possible to do that).

Should I expect to receive one token (for both kids), or two tokens (one for each kid), please.

Also, after token(s) are granted, should the kids be in one MN1 application (yes it is possible I think), or two separate MN1 applications (one MN1 application for each kid), please.

You will get your answer if your application is approved, it bears no consequence on your situation until you actually have to apply.

Hi, Dad recently became a British citizen by naturalization after 5 years as a skilled worker. Mum has ILR and has submitted an application for citizenship (still under processing). Child was born outside the UK (Dad was not British at that time). This child has now ILR granted after 5 years in skilled worker dependent visa.

Since Dad is now British, how can the child apply for citizenship please? Which type of application please? Is it MN1 ? Thanks in advance for your help

Yes they are related. Once the fee waiver request (for two kids who were born abroad and have ILR) get approved, I will then have 10 working days to submit their citizenship applications. So I am now working on the citizenship applications. I thought it would be good to confirm the type of application. To my understanding, it should be MN1 application. Is that correct please?
