ILR application SET-O, Child Over 18

Post by subramy2k » Wed Jun 17, 2026 2:26 pm

I am trying to fill out the ILR application SET-O for my dependent partner of GT and my dependent child over 18.
Under the main application, an option to add an applicant for the dependent child  ( that is also Set-O) does not ask any questions about life in the UK or the English language.

Do I need seperate application for a partner and a dependent child over 18, in that case how do I link the two applications? Is any one faces this? Kindly advise me, please.

A separate application is needed for a child who has turned 18. Such a person must meet the English language and LIUK requirements, will be subject to the criminality rules and should not be leading an independent life.

There is no need to link anything as UKVI knows the rules and considers their application based on their parents' immigration circumstances

ILR Consent Form Signature

Post by subramy2k » Sun Aug 16, 2026 1:26 pm

I am the main applicant and a British citizen. I am seeking clarification regarding the completion of the Family Consent Form for the ILR applications of my dependent partner and children. I understand that Part 1 is signed by the applicant, but I am unclear about Parts 2 and 3.

Spouse application
1. Should I sign Part 2 as the joint owner of the Council Tax document?
2. Should I sign Part 3 as I pay the mortgage and household bills, even though my spouse has her own income?

Adult dependent child application - The application includes bank statements belonging to both my spouse and me as financial evidence for not started an independent life.

3. Who should sign in Part 2?
4. Should both my spouse and I sign Part 3 as the persons whose financial documents are being provided?

I would be grateful for clarification on the correct signing arrangements.

I am the main applicant and a British citizen.
To be cleared, your spouse is the main applicant here, not you.
Spouse application
1. Should I sign Part 2 as the joint owner of the Council Tax document?
2. Should I sign Part 3 as I pay the mortgage and household bills, even though my spouse has her own income?
Applicant signs Part 1, you sign Part 2. Ignore Part 3, it is not relevant here.
Adult dependent child application - The application includes bank statements belonging to both my spouse and me as financial evidence for not started an independent life.

3. Who should sign in Part 2?
4. Should both my spouse and I sign Part 3 as the persons whose financial documents are being provided?
Both you and your spouse if it is a joint bank account. What else are you providing for your adult children?

Hi CR001

Thanks for your reply. I am clear on the spouse applications.

For the adult child, we are providing two bank statements. One from the father (me) and one from the mother (my wife). The account with the bank is not a joint account separate account for the father and a separate account for the mother. The statements show frequent transfers of some amount of money for child expenses.

Can you please explain who should sign in Parts 2 and 3?

Along with that, we are providing the birth certificate, our marriage certificate, a letter from University and, evidence for hostel accommodation, Daughters bank statements

Part 1 is signed by the applicant and part 2 is signed by you. Ignore part 3 as advised before
