Disciplinary action - previous employer

Post by ramesh.78.kumar » Sun Jan 25, 2009 10:47 am

Hi

I had a disciplinary action taken against me from my previous employer. The issue was I took a sick leave to attend an interview and I was caught. So my employer dismissed me.

The issue was sorted between me and my employer. No court, tribunal, police were involved in this case.

I would be applying for my visa extension. Pls let me know if I need to mention this in my tier1 extension application.

Thanks.

Regards
Ramesh

Which section of the extension application is this relevent to? Has this disciplinary action taken in the UK?

I feel the above is not a serious issue. How can anyone say to the employer that he/she wants to take leave to attend an interview?

Yes the disciplinary action taken in U.K.

I am currently in U.K in HSMP and would be applying for my Tier 1 next month. I am worried whether I need to specify this in my Tier 1 application.

The problem is I took a sick leave to attend the interview and thats why I was dismissed.

Bit confused, you say issue was sorted out and still dismissed.
Are you currently in employment? I don't see any problem with extension as long as you satisfy the criteria. The only problem could be when your new employer asks for Reference.

Yes. I am currently in employment.

My new employer knows about my dismissal because my attendance of interview with my new employer was accidentally leaked to my old employer by them. My new employer is an client of my old employer. Fortunately I was selected in the interview.New employer have acknowledged their mistake and took me onboard.

I have got necessary points for my Tier 1 extension. I would like to know whether this is a conviction that needs to be mentioned in my application as I would be giving pay slips from my old employer.

absolutely don' worry about anything then as long as you got all the required documents...you dismissal has nothing to with the tier 1 visa...its not a criminal offense...so don't worry
