Begging for some advise help UK passport Problems

Post by Doulin » Thu Jan 29, 2009 7:39 am

 PLEASE Please I need some advise #FF0000

I went to the British consulate yesterday in South Africa with all my documents dad birth marriage from The UK and my vault copy and all the other docs they require .. The lady informed me then that She cant take my application as my dad only Registered my birth in 1992 ( late Registration) I need to proof now that I was born to my parents in 1976. With Hospital records or something in the same year. I phoned my dad and he said the reason was due to a flood at the Home affairs department in 1976 my and many other registration documents was destroyed and for that reason he had to do a late registration. I phoned the Hospital that I was born at and they only keep history for 5 years Mum and Dad doesn't have anything from my birth as it was 32 years ago.

I have asked phoned and I cant find anything except bout the flood 1976

What must I do now ?

Please please is there any advise or help ?

Doulin,
Surely you have a full unabridged birth certificate and this would be proof of your date of birth or not???

Yes I have and I have a vault copy of my registration aswell but the problem is that they want proof of some kind in the first year of my birth

I was reregistard in 1992 due to the flood at the homeaffairs where I was first registard in 1976 Hostpital records or something in that effect

Who wants it, why do they need the 1st year.
It all sounds ridiculous to me. If it is BC, it is your BC. full stop.

But why? Haven't you asked them? The advice notes attached to the application form don't make any stipulation about the date of issue. If they have reason to doubt the validity of the birth cert, they have to say why, then you can do something to reassure them.

The problem is more to do with proof of identity.

Yes, that's the most likely explanation. In that case he might have to provide all the bits of proof in his possession such as i/d cards, driving licence, school and medical reports, employment record to show that he is the person to whom the birth cert relates, and maybe also an affidavit from his dad relating to the circumstances of registration and the original documents or certified copies that prove his dad's right to pass on British citizenship.
If they didn't accept that he is his father's son he could offer to take a DNA test.

But I'm guessing all this. As I said before, if he's provided the standard proofs required to be issued with a passport, it's up to the Consulate to say exactly why they won't give him one and to specify what would satisfy them.
