Oustanding application average waiting time

Hello everybody,

Sorry if someone has asked about it before - I just couldn't find it on the forum.

I just called the HO today as 14 weeks have passed since I applied for switching from student visa to student dependant visa. Silly me I thought that 14 weeks is the time HO is obliged to give me a response. I was told that my application is on the waiting list and there is actually no deadline for it to be considered. Does it actually mean that I can wait for it forever? My student visa has expired already...

I wonder if anybody faced similar situation and how long did it take them to send you the visa?

Hi! I'm in exactly the same situation and would very appreciate if someone who knows shed some light onto it. A friend of mine waited for 6 months (!!!) for her dependent visa.
