Naturalisation referee

I am in the process of applying for naturalisation and one of my referees has not changed her passport from her maiden name to her married surname. Can she still use her current passport (which runs out in April) that is in her maiden surname for the reference?
Partner: British Citizen; Me: SA with ILR (qualified through spouse visa). Updated March 2009 - naturalised.
