ILR - 88 days out of uk on single trip

Post by angiebull » Wed Feb 11, 2009 3:01 pm

Hello
I shall be applying for my ILR in about 5 months time. In total so far, I have spent 202 days out of the UK on holiday and work assignments. My longest stint of time was for 88 days from Oct to Jan. Do you think this will have any adverse impact on my application? Do I need to get a letter from the employer (now ex employer) stating that the trip was work related. I have payslips which show i was being paid my full salary in the uk!
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi angiebull.
A letter from your ex-employer stating that you were on business trip would only make your case more stronger.

My understanding is that that there wont be any issue for continuous 88 days out of uk in your in last 5 years of qualifying period. Please see this thread:

Hi aaanjoo

Many thanks for the response, i shall embark on the unenviable task of contacting my ex employer for the letter. I get the sense that even without the letter, i should be pretty alright considering that i have not passed the magic 90 days!
cheers

I had been out of UK for about 80 days contunuous in my qualifying period for ILR. I wrote "brother's marriage". I got my ILR w/o any problems. But I had continuous WP.
