Anyone here feeling chewed and spit out by the UK immigration. I was offered a job here but it seems as if the gov here invites people, works their fingers to the bone, and then after they say, oh, we're changing the rules, we don't need you anymore. I feel that way.

I'm really getting sick of this. It happens that I'm really getting frustrated with my job. I would like to change but it is becoming harder and harder to find another job due to all these restrictions. Pretty soon, Tier 2 may be closed except for shortage occupations. Do you think that will apply to people already in the UK?

Should I just find another job in another country, Ireland, the Continent, NZ, or Australia? I just want stablity in my life that is all. Any advice? Do you think all these changes on April 1 are going to apply to people already in the UK or just coming in?

you not the only one, i was born in the uk, my wife is a doctor from outside the EU, if she wants to work as a doc here, she has to pass ielts, 2 plab exams, while if she was married to a european in the uk, she wouldn't have to, as the gov/GMC are not allowed to discriminate against europeans or thier spouses, but if your married to a brit they can

With PBS you get extra points if you are going for a shortage occupation. If the post is not a shortage occupation it doesn't mean you have to leave the UK. You can still go through Tier 2. There just have to be no resident workers available before the employer offers the job to people and offers them certificate of sponsorship.

They may remove some occupations from the shortage list, which will mean that people will not get extra points for those occupations, not that people cannot stay in the UK on Tier 2. Furthermore, there are transitional arrangements for people who are already here as work permit holders and need to reach 5 years and where they will be staying with the same employer.
