New Rule -Dependents not allowed to work from April?

Hi All,

I was just informed by an immigration lawyer from my wife's bank that there is a distinct possibility that partners/ dependents of Visa holders, including Tier 1 will not be allowed to work from April onwards.

He is a respectable lawyer (not a consultant, not a nobody)from a very large multinational bank. Rather than quote any fictional sources (or none), I thought it best to state what I really know for now.

My reason for putting this news here is to check if anyone has heard anything otherwise? I know a friend who lives a nightmare in France where his partner cannot work, unless she qualifies herself. Wondering if UK is following suit with such rules and sudden shift in laws.
