If a parent is British and child was born in the UK, then child is British. Consequently, child may apply for a British passport.

If your son can also apply for your country's passport, then I would expect that he may stay there indefinitely.

Get your son't paperwork done as soon as possible, apply for his passport. Once he has all the paperwork and is a legal citizen, you apply for citizenship too. You have a good change of getting it, they would not separate parent and a child.

Not so simple I'm afraid. we don't know if the father will be on the Birth Certificate or if he want anything to do with the child. If so the OP will have no grounds to remain and will have to leave.
