Or...did you apply for a Marriage Visit Visa which is intended for someone who wishes to marry in the UK but isn't going to settle in the UK after the wedding.
What code is on your entry visa? How much did you pay for your visa?
There is a fee involved in transferring to Further Leave Spouse, which is
processed by the Home Office, not the British Embassy. Postal applications are £465, or an application in person is £665
Did you apply though a solicitor? because 6month visa doesn't cost that much!louellan wrote:Casa wrote:Did you apply for a fiance visa which would give you 6 months in which to marry and then after the wedding apply to the Home Office for Further Leave to Remain - FLR(M)...which is a 2 year spouse visa.

thankyou for your help. I will look into it.Casa wrote:You were given incorrect information regarding the process. You need to complete form FLR(M) which you can download from the UKBA website,
and either submit it by post together with the documents listed, or apply in person at a PEO...prior appointment only. Fees as given in my previous post.
Remember that you won't be able to legally work until you have been granted your 2 years Further Leave. Postal applications are taking around 3 months to process.
