Help Needed for ILR

Post by wp-hsmp » Wed Jul 29, 2009 1:51 pm

Hi,
I have been reading this forum for sometime now and I am amazed how people helping each other!

So I decided to take your advice :) Here is my situation

I've come to uk on 2002 with student visa and on Oct 2004, I got my work permit (07/Oct/2004 to 05/Oct/2009) but in 2008, the company I was working for went to administration. Before this happened I got my HSMP (18/March/2008 to 17 March/2010). Since then I am running my own IT consultancy company (ltd.)

This october I hope I will qualify for ILR (3.5 years on WP and 1.5 year on HSMP). My questions are
1. Is this calculation correct?
2. When is the earliest I can apply (Beginning of september?)
3. 1 year after ILR, can I apply for British Passport (will that probational citizenshipp apply to me?)
4. Do I need to take Life In UK test for ILR?

Thanks for all your help!

B

I am planning to use Named OISC advisors for my ILR application. They charge around £ 800. has anyone used them before?

I can assure you it's not an advert. I read couple of bad reviews about GV about charging your credit card without authorization etc. so I just wanted to double check.

the reason I want to use an agency is I have a limited company and all my accounts are done by my accountent. I read somewhere that they ask a lot of questions about the dividends, CT etc. and I have no knowledge about them whatsoever. I leave all these things to my accountent and at the end of each month he tells me how much money I can withdraw from the company.

I am little concerned if they ask me questions about these things and I cannot answer. it'll look like I am doing something dodgy.

that's the only reason I want to use an agency.

what you can do is read the ILR form and guidelines. Post the questions here which ever you dont understand. If you are not satisfied with the answers and still not confident about applying yourself then you can consult any immigration consultant.

Some time we think its tough and dont try but when we see ourself we then realize that iit may not be the case.

If you dont have the time to do it, then thats some thing different other wise you can always try yourself.
