British Naturalisation - Referees Enquiry

Post by sanju_uk » Wed Jul 29, 2009 12:29 pm

Dear Sir/Madam,

Me and my wife are applying for naturalisation. I have been in UK for 9 years and my wife has been 6 years in UK.

Do we have to fill two separate forms of Form AN when applying together? If yes, do we have to provide four referees, two for each?

In the guidelines, it is mentioned that the referee should not be related to the other? Does this mean they shouldn't be related as a relative? Is co-worker who is also a good friend allowed to be second referee as my first referee is my employer?

I hope to hear your reply soon,

Many thanks,
Regards,
Sanj

Hi,

I am also in a process of applying for the Naturalisation. You have to fill two AN forms and if you have a kid/kids then you have to fill MN1 form. But you can send all these form together. You have to pay a joint fee for AN forms and separate fee for MN1 form.
References I asked Midwife to sign one of the Reference and other from my Manager. I hope they are fine. Try to check from your GP our GP is not willing to sign the Naturalisation form but said they can sign the Passport application.

Thanks
mna

Yes you have to complete separate forms for yourself and your wife. As for referees, they can not be your relative and at least one of them MUST be British citizen.

Both referees should neither be related to you or each other. Your co worker (friend) and employer can be two referees provided at least one of them is British.
