Hi Guys/Gals,
Could you please advise me on how to proceed and clarify my doubts,
I've been calling the PEO everyday at 8.57am for an appointment to no avail (10 years long residency).
I would need to do an in person application due to my circumstances.
Had spoken to a solicitor firm who had said that they could secure an appointment for October the 7th 2009 now but I would need to make the full payment of £1170 (their fees) first. Thought this was not possible so early and no one can guarantee any dates. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Not worried about the money but dont want to be conned or mislead.

As far as I know, there lof of OISC advisors who have got slots available this week and next week etc but only charge £500 . If you are paying ,make sure of the following.
Call few OISC advisors and get quote on their fee and terms and condtions
The slots should be available in next 7 days.
They should be realiable and professional and charge reasonable fees.

couldnt you get appointment by calling PEO? how come the solicitor firm provide you appointment?

solicitors has separate group line for appointments and even caseworkers are allocated to them.
