Domestic violence and spousal visa please help!!!!!

Post by sassh » Sat Sep 26, 2009 6:39 pm

Now this is hard, i am pregnant with my husbands child and currently on spousal visa but i am experiencing domestic violence we have been married for over 4 years but have been together for nearly a long time and late last year he physically abused me which resulted to me going to the doctor with injuries in my body afterwards we then talked about it and it was all ok. we planned to start a family which both of us were excited! and now it has happened i am on my late stages of pregnancy but he again has become increasingly verbally abusive infact he disappears for days without communicating and then comes back..i have just started my maternity leave and currently undergoing counseling because of this..i feel i can not take it anymore and want out! but i am worried about my status and not being able to support the child and myself..please help..any suggestions as i wouldn't like to go back to my country yet because i still want to study in the uk too.

I don't think it is wise staying in this relationship, perhaps you should consider getting the police involved and applying for a Non-Molestation order against this guy if he is violent towards you.

See The Requirements for victims of Domestic Violence

Also you will need to apply using form DV for an indefinite leave ,based on this. The downside is , you will need to get the police involved and have him charged for his violent conduct.

Also see This important note aswell, which give further explanation about the process.

Please find the DV form below.
