Help understanding the Tier 1 (PSW) Dependents' maintenance

Post by nishsil » Wed Oct 07, 2009 8:34 pm

In 2008 September I completed my post graduate diploma and applied for Tier 1 PSW and I received my passport in march 2009 with the tier 1 PSW visa.

I went to get married in august 2009 to Sri Lanka and came back to UK in September and I plan to apply to British high commission in Colombo to bring my wife to UK as my dependent in the month of November 2009.

Some say I must have £533 because I have been in the country for more than 12 months as a student and then under the tier 1 PSW visa. And some say I must have £1600 since I have been in tier 1 PSW visa under 12 months.

I would be pleased if you can check and verify the minimum balance (£533 or £1600) I should keep in my account for three months according to my circumstances.

Thanking you in advance and waiting for a quick response from your selves.

1. You shud hav 533 and not 1600.
2. The reason is that u r in the Uk for more than 12 months.
3. The 1 year rule starts from wen u first entered the UK and not u PSW visa duration.
