HSMP / Tier 1 Earnings period question

Post by amy99 » Tue Oct 27, 2009 6:31 pm

Greetings,

I am now preparing the documents for earnings and have a specific question about the period I can claim:

I want to claim earnings from 01/09/2008 - 31/08/2009 - my first weekly pay during this period was on 05/09/2008 (the 1st Friday in 09/2008, 1st Monday was 01/09/2008), however it was actually the salary for the last week in 08/2008 (apprently outside this period), but I was paid on 05/09/2008.

Can I use this pay in claiming earnings? Many thanks for your help!

If you want use the following 01/09/2008 - 31/08/2009 period for earnings then u can not claim the work done in aug , as the pay slip will mention the week/month.. though it is paid in sep..

Hi, many thanks for your reply. Another question is -

must I use the exact calendar month (ie from the 1st of the first month till the 30/31 of the last month), or it is acceptable if I want to claim earnings from any day in the month, eg. 31/08/2008 - 30/08/2009?

As you have probably guessed, my second weekly pay was made on 12/09/2008 for the week of 31/08/2008 - 06/09/2008, I do not want to cause any trouble for making the period starts from 01/09/2008 while the week of the pay starts from 31/08/2008 (though it was Sunday).

You can claim any period of twelve months in last 15 months period, but keep in mind that your bank statements and payslips must corroborate each other in the claimed period.

Thank you mvent00, my payslips are in line with bank statements -

I will then make it "31/08/2008 - 30/08/2009", it seems the best arrangement for my weekly pay, or do you think there is any other better ways of dealing with it?

Really appreciate your expert advice! :)
