Hello,

I wanted to know that in order to be eligible to get visa extended does one has to enter UK within 6 months of getting visa?

If yes:
will entering UK once withn 6 months and then leaving within Days and then reentering UK later be fine?

Thank you for your help.

It is not necessary that you shd visit UK with in 6months of getting VISA..

But regarding the extension.. you should be able to qualify with minimum required points as per the RULES at that time as rules can change at any time in future..

rules may change anytime? Confused. I got tier-1 which is 3 yrs initially that is base on the old rule which says that bachelor degree is fine. Now the rules for tier-1 got changed and we need masters degree. So it means for my next ext after 3 yr another 3yr should be granted based on the earnings for the consecutive 12months (that is the final yr or say 3rd yr) and it will be based on the same OLD TIER-1 rule in which Bachelors degree is used. Is my understanding correct? Only for final settlement the change in rule is applicable?

if you got the initial approval under old HSMP rules then you should be fine getting extension with the bachelor's degree that is I believe rules on or before 31 Feb 09.

But I did hear a rumor about the Masters degree

innocentdevil i believe old HSMP and First time introduced Tier-1 with bachelors are valid till 31-Feb-09. I submitted by 22-Feb-09 and got my approval on april09 and my visa starts from June2009 so technically i am within 31-Feb09 period. I am worried when u say rumour it means for my next ext i mean after my 3yrs i need to show earnings above x amount and also masters degreee u mean? In that case i need to take up a partime masters course which is 2yrs and complete it that too...huh that is going to be big task for me...huh.
