Please pardon me if I've posted this to the wrong forun.

Hi All,

Such a wonderfully helpful forum this is...and such patient and helpful members too. A big THANK YOU to the moderators and everyone that's ever posted an item I made use of.

After first 2 years of HSMP, got 3 years extension recently under Tier 1 to expire in 2012. I'm thinking it's quite imperative I keep my eyes on the ball and, as such, will like to know how to 'proactively' prepare towards applying for an Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) come 2012.

Any useful pointers, objectives to work at, suggestions, etc. I should bear in mind? 2012 may seem such a long way off but I'd just like advise from the more experienced folks on what I need to bear in mind and work at with respect to applying for the ILR come that time.

Thank you very much.

You are thinking about 2012 in 2009!! Londoners who are host to 2012 Olympics are not even thinking about it at the moment. :D

Well, jokes apart, the only thing which comes to mind is about your continuous stay in UK from 2011. Do check rules at that time and then only plan for any long holidays around that time.

Till then, chill out!!

RILR rules might be changing in July 2011..So if you havent got your ILR by July 2011 ,then you might get probationary citizenship when your time is due..But again, they keep moving the goal post..
