Reg: General Dependent Visa Tier1

Post by ahmedvsnl » Thu Nov 19, 2009 11:34 pm

Hi,
I have a question on my spouse dependent visa.My spouse is currently on a dependant work permit Visa and is valid till April 2010. I am planning to apply HSMP for myself by December 1st week. I am maintaining the required funds for my spouse from this month. So that I can be able to maintain until january and apply the Tier 1 dependant Visa by February 1st week.My question is..
Can my spouse apply for a general Tier 1dependent visa on February from UK or do he return back to India and apply there??
Please let me know the procedure and kindly help me out in this. Thank you.

yes she can apply from within UK, please check the following link

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... dantroute/

but why dont u apply together that way you'll save money otherwise if u apply seprately you'll be paying £465 for her dependent application whereas if you apply together u only pay £50 extra.

I have not maintained 1600 pounds extra for my spouse until last month. I am maintaining frm this month. As I will be able to show 800 +1600 from November till january. That is he reason I am unable to apply together.My company contract is ending by jan and they will be sending back to India. so I am in a hurry to apply before that.

If you are in a hurry and need to save urselves to stay in UK and do not mind for the extra Fees if ur spouse applies seperately;

Than you should go ahead and apply for Tier1(G) for urselves first on 1st week of december and by the time ur visa result comes back in Dec End or Jan 1st week.. then u can apply for ur Spouse..

ur dependent do not need to go to india to apply for being ur Tier1(G) dependent.. he can apply as dependent from previous WP dependent?? to Tier1(G) dependent i think in 28days after you change your visa type..

so please make sure u have all ur documentation right as this is do or die case for u to apply from UK.. and before ur company will ask u to go to india..

Please ask any simple, silly or tough questions..

in that case please follow ramesh advise and try to get in person appointment, if you cant book it online or by phone try to get help from solicitor they may charge you £200-300 for premium appointment but its worth it blv me. ask solicitor to just give you the appointment and you go yourself there is no need to send solicitor to represent you anyway

That's an optimistic rate.

someone on this forum told me via private message that his solicitor charged him £300. when i was looking for premium appointment via solicitor, one solicitor asked me 1500 which included representing me in home office.

Yeah £1500 is on the upper end of spectrum. Many solicitor in London charge that amount. though I aslo know few solicitors who charge £500+VAT(no-win no fees).
