Hi Forum,
I am in the process of applying for HSMP 2 Tier1 in few days.
I have couple of issues with Bank statements for previous earnings!
I have got a faxed copy for a year from Barclays, which is sealed and signed.
The problem is
1. When I included my wife as a Joint account holder, they mis-spelt my last name. So I went into Barclays and tried to get it rectified and get a fresh copy of the statement. The staff were helpful and they have got a fax from Back office(they said they have corrected the problem) but the faxed copy has the same problem. Further, when I queried the staff for the persistence of the same issue. But the staff now said they can't change the past information.
Now, would explaining this issue in covering letter resolve my issue?
2. In the 12 month time frame, I have changed my house and the statement was updated later by Barclays which does not corroborate with my address details in the application form. What should be done for the same?
Thanks!
Regards,
vks

You can do either one of these or all
1. Try to get a letter from you bank about the name issue from your local branch as they are aware of the name problem so it will be easy for u to explain them which can be a good support to the statements
2. Mention about the problem in ur cover letter, this depends on how much of it is misspelt to be come a serious issue..
As you will give the contact details of the bank in the application even if the HO has doubt they will contact the bank and clarify for themselves... put that request in the cover letter
wait for ppl who were in the same case...

Thanks Ramesh!
I just have one letter in the last name mis-spelt. i.e instead of ending with RAM, it is RAN.
The Bank said that they are not ready to issue a letter. But I have got the card from the Branch Manager. He may be contacted directly, incase HO has any clarifications.
I shall write down this in the covering letter..
Regarding the other question, w.r.t the date that I resided in a particular address from the bank statement, does any one faced this issue?

If it is only one letter with 1 alphbet and all other statements are fine.. then u dont need to worry.. for u satisfaction u can mention in cover letter
i did not get the 2nd question.. do u mean some statements have prevous address?? and only few have current address... in that case it is fine and not a problem u can as long as u have latest statements with latest address

Example: I was in address A until 5th July 2008
2. Address B until 27th Feb 2009. and from there on it is address C
In the Bank statement, the date that I resided in address A would be 30th Nov 2008, address B would be March 2009. Would HO check the dates for residence with the application forms?
