I have a hard time understanding the procedure of applying for immigration. First thing, I dont understand is the immigration connection with visa.
1. It is stated that bio information is required ( which will be done at department of homeland security office) for securing the visa. Cant uk border and security make a decision on application without me applying for visa. How is bio information sent to uk immigration office.
2. Do I have to provide my immigration application with supporting document to uk consulate when I go for visa interview.
3. How people from US are sending their package to uk imigration office, and what is the best way to send and recive the documents.

Thanks

A visa is the formal permission by the government of the country you wish to emigrate to that allows you to visit/live/stay/work etc. in that country. In simple words, visa / entry cearance / leave to remain are immigration documents.

Reading Notice about biometric data of those applying for UK visas should help.

Unless you make an application to enter UK under a particular immigration category, how do you expect UKBA to make a decision?? .. Without an application! :?

Should you, as an applicant, worry about inter-agency or intra-agency operating procedures?? Or rather, should this be of a concern? Just wondering ....

Read Visa Application Procedures. Whether you need to attend an interview will be decided by UKBA on the merits of your application and supporting evidences.

Looks like you need to carefully read (and understand) the visa application procedure in US. Read How do I apply?

Thanks for the answers but it didnt help much.

I want to learn from the people who have applied already or know the process so that I will follow their footsteps. This will be much easier for me. I guess I am too dumb to follow the instructions on the ukborderand security.

First, how do I go about doing the bio taken from Department of home land security. Please share your experience. What to bring and in what time frame would USCIS/.DHS will return the bio/fingerprint/clearance result back to me.

Second. (I think I have to include bio result/clearnace with the immigration application.). After reveiwing the immigration application, if they approve it. Will they stamped my passport with visa? Or is it a separate process (I need to shedule a visa interview with british embassy and present the immigration approval letter as evidence along with other visa application supporting papers.

Thanks

In that case, I'll leave it to other experts / applicants from US to spoon-feed you.

If you wish to, reading this discussion might help.

My questions were specific to the process, not the rules (which are available to read in the uk immigration website). I dont see why you need to answer/reply to my posting when clearly you dont have the answers for my queries.

No offence .. but had you cared to look and read, you'd have understood that the links provided above point to detailed information regarding UK visa application "process" from USA (service run by Worldbridge) and contains relevant and useful information that answers most of your queries.

The information given is definitely relevant and useful for anyone wanting to apply for UK EC from USA.

No hard feelings!
