quick question

Post by arsenal49 » Sun Jan 24, 2010 12:10 am

Hi everyone,

My course finished earlier and i graduated last July '09. My student visa is valid until November 2010.

Can i apply for PSW earlier ?

I would like to hear from u if you know someone whose course also finished earlier and he/she applied for psw after around 6, 7 months of finishing the course.

I will be applying from inside UK.

Thanks

PS. Have you submitted an application in last week or so. Please reply to this post with your current timeline as this will give all of u better understanding of how long is it taking HO to process applications.

How could you finish your course one and a half year earlier than your visa expiry date :?: :?:

i finished earlier cuz it was a sandwich course meaning it has 1 year placement integrated into it but i didnt secure it, so finished earlier. the other 4-5 months are pretty much standard period the visa is granted for. i know several friends like 10,15 who has 4-5 months after expected grad date

It does not matter if you apply for your visa even one day before it's expiry ( it doesn't even matter if it's expired and you are in india to make an out of country application).. But in your case i believe that you would have to apply before july 2010.. There is a technicality in the visa application where you have to apply for your PSW within 12 months of your date of award of degree (which i think is bullsh*t in your case since you have so many months remaining on your visa).. It doesn't mean the graduation date (important).. So you better do it before that date..
