HO have taken to much money from my bank

Post by dawnkirby » Thu Jan 28, 2010 9:12 pm

hi. i would first like to thank john for advising on my tax credit question. i submitted my flrm application 6 days ago and gave my bank details the next day465 was taken from my bank account so was afurther 820 pounds. i called the home office and they asked me if i had submitted two forms as 820 pounds is the cost for ilr. of course i hadent done this and asked them to refund the 820 pounds. this was 5 days ago. i have called them several times and have been made to feel a nuisence. the thing is this is their mistake, i have had to fax of letters and authourisation codes from the bank but still no money has been returned to us. the direct debits for the gas and electric has been returned incurring 27 bank charges. the council tax is due soon. the thing is its not like its a few pence it is almost a months wages. and most importantly they had no right to take it. pls advise. dawn
