Tier 1 Previous Earnings applying from USA

Post by kashyap8 » Thu Mar 11, 2010 4:02 pm

Hello Experts,

I am applying for Tier 1 (General) visa from USA next month.

I have few doubts and questions regarding previous earnings.

I know that we can show 12 consecutive months' income from last 15 months from the date you send your application.

I am going to be sending my application in April 2010.

Q1: Will April be counted as 15th month or March will be counted at 15th month?

I am willing to show my salary from February 2009 to January 2010 as they were consecutive months I got paid and I can claim my points for previous earnings.

My company for which I work pays me in arrears. (they are one month behind for the payment). That means I get my salary for January 2010 at the end of February 2010. The payslips show the correct pay period and payment date is shown in February if the payment is for January 2010 as in above case. Also in my bank statement the payment date for salary is in February or beginning of March for January 2010 payment.

Q2: will this create any discrepancy when the case worker looks at my bank statements and my payslips?

Also I get a physical check for the salary payment and when I deposit that check in my bank account the description for that salary deposit entry does not show as a salary, it just shows as deposit or "counter credit".

Q3: Should your bank statement show the salary entry as salary from XYZ company or so? If it does not show like this then will it create a suspicion in case worker's mind?

Q4: Is it beneficial to show payslips or the letter from employer as a proof of previous earnings? What will be safer option?

I urge the experts of this group to reply to my questions and I thank them for their good work.

Thanks all.

- MARCH month end - Salary

I am willing to show my salary from February 2009 to January 2010 as they were consecutive months I got paid and I can claim my points for previous earnings.

- It is fine, explain the same in brief for caseworker to know before he goes through ur docs

Also I get a physical check for the salary payment and when I deposit that check in my bank account the description for that salary deposit entry does not show as a salary, it just shows as deposit or "counter credit".

- It is OK

Q3: Should your bank statement show the salary entry as salary from XYZ company or so? If it does not show like this then will it create a suspicion in case worker's mind?

- It is not Mandatory... it is ok as long as the net amounts matches with payslip net salary

Q4: Is it beneficial to show payslips or the letter from employer as a proof of previous earnings? What will be safer option?

- Employer letter is better option for you so that employer can explain the Q1. query in the letter..
