Switching from Tier 2 dependant to Tier 1 General

Post by shyamsanker » Wed Mar 17, 2010 8:27 pm

Hello,

My wife is in the UK and possesses a Tier 2 Dependant visa. She wants to apply for Tier 1 General. We had the following questions - help is much appreciated.

1) Does she have to apply for entry clearance in her own country (India) or can she do it in the UK? - My understanding is she has to go back to India.

2) If she is NOT given a Tier 1 General - will her dependant visa be affected or will it be still valid?

3) For maintainence of funds, can we show bank statements from multiple accounts? For eg: A1, A2, A3 are the funds in one account and B1, B2 and B3 are the funds in another account, A1+B1 > 2800 GBP etc.

Thanks!
Shyam.

1. Yes, you are right

2. if Tier1 is rejected, she can continue on her Tier2

3. Yes she can show in that way as long as she is the Main/joint account holder
