DO I HAVE THE CORRECT SUPPORTING DOCS??

Post by travelerzee » Thu Apr 08, 2010 4:50 pm

Dear members,
I will be applying for my visa in a few months. I have compiled a checklist from the number of amazing posts on this forum. I would sincerely appreciate it if some of you could confirm that I have covered all of my bases. I have also added a few questions at the bottom that I am unsure of.
Thanks you very much for taking the time to read this LONG message ;)

UK Tier 1 visa checklist:
• Application form
• Cover letter
• VAF 9
• PBS Appendix 1 General Migrant self assessment form
• PDF on line points based calculator print out

Age
• Certified color copy of passport
• Original drivers license

Qualification
• Original sealed transcripts
• Original Bachelor certificate
• Original Honors certificate

Previous earnings
• Payslips (I received e-payslips. If I ask my company to print them on company letterheads and sign each page, will this be accepted?)
• Bank statement showing received amounts for the year claimed
• Original Bank Book
• Letter from employer detailing gross and net income for each of the 12 months

English Language
• Original sealed transcripts (same set as included in ‘Qualification’ section)
• Letter from University of Cape Town stating that my degree was taught in English

Maintenance funds
• Latest bank statement showing at least 3 months, with company logo, name, acc # and date of statement.

Photo
• Two color passport sized photos (taken against light grey/ cream background. 45mm high x 35mm wide)

Questions:
• For proof of identity, do I need to include the original passport and drivers license or are certified color copies acceptable?
• Should I include a CV and reference letters from my employer?
• I received e-payslips. If I ask my company to print them on company letterheads and sign each page, will this be accepted?
• On the letter from my employer, indicating my gross and net income, should the amounts be in pouns or the currency they are earned in? (I have been working in Korea for the past 2 years)
• Do I NEED to include a tax refund form?
• My degree and University are listed on the points-based calculator. Does this mean that I don’t need proof of a NARIC evaluation?
• Is a letter from the University stating that my degrees were taught in English required/ suggested if my University is listed on the PBC?
• In South Africa, we can do an additional year of studies, which is equivalent to a postgraduate degree; however, this is NOT classified as a Masters. Should I include both degree certificates with my application? And should I claim points on the 3 year Bachelor OR the 1 year Honors?
• Is it better to have all documents in signed and sealed envelops (eg. Bank statements, letters from employer, payslips etc) or have the original signed documents in a see-through flip-file?

• Is a letter from the University stating that my degrees were taught in English required/ suggested if my University is listed on the PBC? Not necessary
• In South Africa, we can do an additional year of studies, which is equivalent to a postgraduate degree; however, this is NOT classified as a Masters. Should I include both degree certificates with my application? And should I claim points on the 3 year Bachelor OR the 1 year Honors? which ever gives you enough points and is recognised by the PBS calculator
• Is it better to have all documents in signed and sealed envelops (eg. Bank statements, letters from employer, payslips etc) or have the original signed documents in a see-through flip-file?upto you

thank you very much for your reply.

My degree does give me points on the PBS.

To other members, please tell me if you used/ suggest a flip-file or should I have all sealed and stamped envelops when applying.
