Settlement visa query.

Post by toots1 » Tue Oct 05, 2010 12:33 am

Hello, I'm a new member and hope someone might be able to help.
I was married to a Canadian lady on 28th August in Canada and a month before that June 23rd we applied for a settlement visa for her to come the UK to join me.
This was a bit stressful to say the least but she did the WorldBridge thing and we got all the stuff they wanted and it was was sent off to UK border agency in Ottawa who sent an email 3 days later saying they had the application and they were processing it and they would get back to us.

We didn’t hear anything back but thought these things take time and it’s only just been two months.
Then a few weeks ago I get a call from my wife in Canada (I’m back in the UK) and she is upset and tells me she has just received an email message form UK Border agency saying they had sent her an email on 9th August saying they requested some documents from us and as yet they have not received them and so as a consequence we have five days to send them.

The thing is my wife never received this email, she always forwards me emails of importance and would have forward anything from UK Border agency but of course she never did because she never received anything from them, it’s not that we’re saying they never sent it just that she/we never got it.

So the deadline of five days has come and gone (they want more original bank statements which takes up to ten day with Lloyds) and a the original marriage certificate, okay we can do that but we just couldn’t get the stuff to them in time, my wife has spoken to WorldBridge and explained about the phanthom email never arriving and they said they would “elevateâ€
