Its really very very urgent...please help all
Long story short - I am on Tier 1 visa valid for another 2 years, my wife's earlier application for tourist visa was rejected for EC officer not being certain if she would return back within 6 months. Whereas we have plans to return to india for good in 3 months time.
Now, she's going to file for dependant visa - and we want to explain the above rejection and reasons behind application of tourist visa instead of dependant.
I am planning on attaching the following covering letter, please please someone please read it and advise if anything needs adding or tidying up in the letter including moving of sections around -
COVERING LETTER

Date: 7th July, 2010
Mrs. XXXX

Mob: +91 XXXXXXX
To,
The Immigration Officer
British Deputy High Commission
Mumbai, India
Sub – Application for Tier 1 (General) Dependant
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am applying herewith for entry clearance to UK as a dependant to my husband, Mr. XXXX - who is Main Applicant and currently working in UK under highly skilled worker category (Tier 1 General) of the points-based system. His details are as below:
Main Applicant Details
Name: Mr. XXXX
Passport Number: XXXX
Tier 1 Visa issue date: XXXX
Tier 1 Visa expiry date: XXXX
Additional Information
My earlier application (XXXX) for ‘Family Visitor visa’ applied on XXXX 2010 was unfortunately turned down as entry clearance officer was unsure of my intentions of returning back to India within the permitted 6 months stay in UK based on the information and supporting evidence provided by me.
I humbly accept the decision of the assessment officer and appreciate the efforts and time put in to assess my application. I, with this application, would like to explain my situation and reasons behind earlier application of Family visitor visa.
Reason - I very recently got married to Mr. XXXX on 31st May 2010, and he had to travel back to UK on 22nd June 2010 to resume his work back with XXXX.
Before his travel back to UK, we both mutually decided to stay in UK for just another 3 months and then return back to India to take care of my ailing mother, XXXX, who is suffering from depression. My mother’s ailment requires constant care and observation. As my father is on the move most times due to work, I am obliged to look after all her needs including her medication and in accompanying her to doctor. A medical certificate attached with the application describes her ailment.
Therefore, for the reasons mentioned above, I applied for ‘Family Visitor Visa’ instead of ‘Dependent Visa’ to save on time and cost.
I am attaching the following documents along with my Tier 1 Dependant application form:
1. Identity Proof
I was born on XXXX, and I am XXXX years of age at the time of this application.
Documents Provided:
• Original Passport stating date of birth
2. Relationship evidence
I got married to Mr. XXXX, on 31st May 2010 in XXXX, India.
Documents Provided:
• Original Marriage Certificate citing our date and place of marriage
• Some photographs of our wedding ceremony.
3. Main Applicant Details
My husband, Mr. XXXX, is already on Tier 1 (General) visa since XXXX valid until XXXX.
Documents Provided:
• Copy of First, Last and Tier 1 (General) visa pages of Main applicant’s passport.
• Copy of Tier 1 Approval letter
4. Maintenance Funds
My husband is maintaining the required maintenance funds for me for the claim period i.e. last three month – 2nd April 2010 to 2nd July 2010. The money has been maintained into my husband’s salary account (account number XXXX) in HSBC, UK.
As mentioned by point 41 & 88 of PBS (Dependant) policy guidance notes available at
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... olicy1.pdf, my husband needs to show maintenance fund of at least £533 all time for the claim period as he’s been living in UK since September, 2006.
Documents Provided:
• Original HSBC bank statements covering the claim period and showing funds in excess of £533 at all times during the claim period (2nd April 2010 to 2nd July 2010)
• Last 3 month pay slips
• Sponsorship letter from my husband
I am also providing the following additional documents for maintenance funds requirement. Please do refer to the following documents in case of any doubt or query -
Additional Documents Provided:
• Last 3 month bank statements from my husband’s another bank account (XXXX) in HSBC, UK. As this is high interest yielding account, my husband regularly transfers money into this account from his salary account.
• Last 6 month bank statements of account (XXXXXXXXX) held by me with HSBC, India.
• A letter from branch manager of HSBC, India confirming the balance in my account (XXXXXX) on 7th July 2010 as INR XXXXXXX.
• www.oanda.com conversion page printout
I performed the conversion from the website www.oanda.com on 7th July 2010, and the conversion valuations are
1 INR = 0.01403 GBP
Therefore, the total balance available in above bank account in GBP is
XXXXXX * 0.01403 = XXXXXXX.
5. Accommodation Proof
My husband is currently living at XXXX.
On my arrival in UK, I’d reside with my husband at the above mentioned address.
Documents provided:

Thanking you.
Yours Sincerely,
(XXXXXXXX)
