child born in india

Post by neel220 » Sat May 21, 2011 12:32 am

I am british national by naturalisation since 2007, my wife(indian) gave birth to my son last month, please somebody could clarify my confusion-

1) can I apply british passport for my son, and I have to make a british passport application within in one year from child birth or I can make any time. how long take to process.

2) Second it is compursory to get child consular birth certificate from BHC
to put with child first visa application.

3)or I can apply for child right to abode document on indian passport.

4)or apply settlememt visa.

Child is automatically British (2(1)(a)) from birth.

May apply either for a British passport or a Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode at any time.

Consular birth registration is optional.
