Full-time/Part time study under HSMP

Post by RD@UK » Tue Jul 25, 2006 9:48 am

Hi,
I have got my HSMP approved. Is it possible for me to pursue a 1-yr full time study under HSMP? If i do that and work for the 2nd year, will i have problems when i go in for my HSMP extension? Alternatively if i pursue a 2-yr part time study will i have problems with my extension?
I would be grateful if i get some clarifications. Pls help

Thanks,
RD@UK

As per my opinion, i don't think you can study full time during your 2 years HSMP but i still think u can do that part time...one thing u need to know for sure is that this visa is being given to you so that you can come and work here and support the economy so if you are studying, you are more like a student rather than a highly skilled migrant...you might have probs when you go for your extension....uou need to earn good during your stay in UK...

But i understand frm my univ tht i have to get a letter from my employer stating that i am legally qualified to work and i am on their payroll in order to enroll on the part time course. I was wondering whether any employer would be willing to give me such a letter and encourage my part time course. I am an IT professional and the part time course is in finance.

I don't think that wud be a problem...you will in any case have the appointment letter...a lot depends on your job as well i.e. temp or perm job...if your course timings are not clashing with the work hours then i don't think there wud b any probs....i would suggest you to initially go for the temp one as it gives u much more flexibility..
