I have tried documenting myself on this very useful forum, but as I am new to all things "immigration related", I thought it best to write and get a bit of input directly.
Here is our situation:
- I am French/EU citizen living in Ireland since June 2007. I have been employed for 3+ years but left my job in April 2011 as I thought my fiancee and I would be moving to Turkey.
- In the end my Turkish fiancee and I decided to get married (and stay) in Ireland, on the 29th of September 2011 (already notified the GRO)
- My Turkish fiancee is currently back in Turkey and I think (will need to check) that she is planning to come back to Ireland in September through a UK visa that she already has and the Short-stay Visa Waiver Programme (see http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP11000005?)
- She just today found a very good job with a company in Ireland but who would not sponsor her as she applied with them on the grounds that she is getting married in late September. They have made plans for her to start her employment on the second week of October (which I think might be a mistake, and the trigger to me writing here).
Now for the questions:
1) I believe the only course of action for her would be to apply through the EU Form 1, in order to ultimately obtain a Stamp 4, right?
2) But while the application of the EU Form 1 is processed (up to 6 months?), there is no way for her to work, since they only give a temporary residency permit?
3) Can this gap in my employment (during which I didn't register as being unemployed/looking for work since I was self-suficient) play against us? I was using this time to try and find a better job than my last but considering the EU Form 1 will require 2 pay slips, I am now almost ready to beg my former company, even for a lower salary, etc.

4) Bonus question: do you think her coming to Ireland through the (very recent) Short-stay Visa Waiver Programme (see link above) could be an issue when applying for the EU Form 1?
I apologize for so many questions but I am trying my best to get a clear idea of the situation and what we need (since she rushed into accepting a contract she might not be able to hold, and I left my work for us only to see it backfire)...
Thanks in advance for your answers...
Best,
Lilian.
