Spouse visa from marriage to green card

Hi,

could you please tell if some one married to US citizen how long takes time

to get green card , permanent citizen. and after when call to parent / brother,

could any body tell me complete time period to achieve above.

like in Uk after married to british spouse,

after 27 months able to get indefinate to leave

than after passing UK life test able to get british passport.


what about USA

The whole process may take several years, depending on the type of immigrant category and the country of birth.

With no complications, it takes about 6 months or so to get a US immigrant visa through a spouse. After that, again with no complications (such as divorce) it takes about 3 years to naturalize. Once you are a US citizen, you can petition for your parents, and their waiting time will be similar to that for a spouse. Brothers and sisters on the other hand can take much longer (about 10 years).
