Where can I find Home Office Reference Number?

Post by wtsoi » Wed Aug 31, 2011 4:12 pm

Dear all,

Where can I find my and my wife's Home Office Reference Number? I need these numbers to register for Life in UK test and fill in the form for indefinite leave to remain. I checked with the last letters from Home Office when they granted me and my wife with Tier 1 visa and Tier dependent. The only number I can see is somthing like: Our Ref GXXXXXXX, where X are different numbers. The number for my wife is the same as me but with /2, i.e. GXXXXXXX/2. Are these the Home Office Reference number? If not, can I use them to register for the Life in the UK test and for the application form for Indefinite Leave to Remain? Someone suggest me that it should be fine with these numbers as the Home Office will be able to get our information from these numbers.

Many thanks!

Best wishes,

Tsoi

yes that is the HO ref number, it's usually the first initial of your family name plus around 6/7 digits.

Dear,

Thank you very much. However, the first letter of the reference number is not the initial of my surname. It starts with G, but the initial of my surname is T. Is it still OK? Thanks!

Best wishes,

Tsoi

If it says our ref then it should be.

Is G the first letter of one of your other names or your partners name?

Dear,

We don't have any initial with G. Thank you very much again!
