problem with biometric reisidence permit.PLEASE HELP

Hi,

I have got my surname changed in my passport from my maiden name to married name last month but my Biometric residence permit,which is valid for 2 years, still has my old surname in it.UKBA says to get the new permit within three months of the change of surname.I have to travel outside UK urgently now.

Can I carry my biometric residence permit with my old surname and get it changed after I come back to UK ?I have both my old (with my maiden name)and the new(with my married name) passports with me and will still have one month left with me to apply for new permit.

I think your question is best answered by UKBA themselves, just give them a call and explain the urgency to travel.

Hi There

I have read your post and am in the exact same situation now.

I have changed my passport to my married name, but my residence permit (I have ILR) is now in my maiden name. Tthe UKBA state that you need to change your name on your residence permit within 3 months and it has only been one moth.

Can I travel with both my new passport, old passport and residence permit (whch has my old surname in it) and then change it upon return from my holiday? Upon return the 3 month period would not have been exceeded yet.

Your help would be appreciated.
