Sending Self Addressed Stamped Envelope

Post by Jk2007 » Sat Dec 16, 2006 8:41 am

I recently submitted my FLR(HSMP). I am concerned about the safe return of my documents and passports.

Can I now send a self addressed stamped envolope (Royal Mail Special Delivery) to HO for safe return of documents?

I am thinking of sending Royalmail Prepaid Next Day Special Delivery envelope to HO for returing the documents.

I am sending this one week AFTER I had submitted my application. Would this cause any delay or confusion?

I would advise that you relax and take things easy. Don't pre-empt any that make cause you unnecessary delay. Give them one more week...if you don't here from them by then, then you can begin to make enquiries.
If you have tracked your application via Royal mail website and if it says delivered....then it's delivered to the address you wrote on the application. I am very sure that your application is not lost. You should note that this is an extremly busy period for post enhence there might be some artificial delays...so take things easy and relax.

lanr3e,

Thanks for your comforting words. You are right, my package has been received by the Work Permits Office.

On my Email enquiry, I have received the reply from the LTR team giving me the reference number LTxxxxxxx/01for my application. This has certainly relieved me of some stress.

My question is: Is it better to send them a RoyalMail Prepaid Special delivery Self Addressed envelope, for safe return of documents once the decision is made? I did not send this envelope with my application, so I wish to send it now? Would this cause any problem or delay? I have lot of documents and 4 passports, so I am concerned that I receive them back safely once the decision is made. Any comments?

Your passport and documents will be sent back via special delivery. You don't need to send them any pre-paid envelope. But you can arrange for a courier to pick up ur documents after a decision has been reached. See work permits (UK) website for more info.

lanre3

I found that they send by recorded delivery, not by special delivery. In the guidance notes they say that if we want to receive it by special delivery, we should attach prepaid envelope. With Special Delivery, we can receive the document next day, guaranteed.

I am worried how they will pack the items, so I sent my prepaid envelope today to them.

May be I am too much worried.. But I hope sending this envelope would not cause any confusion or delay.

Well, U can give it a try i.e. send ur pre-paid special delivery envelope if that will put ur mind at rest.
The only difference btw them is that special delivery is normally guaranteed for delivery the following day...otherwise both require a signature for them to be delivered...so it's safe either way but one is faster than the other.
